Asked by Sean 09-09: who owns it, size, legitimacy, trail, how long on buses, why the site is not geared to buses, and a read of Ali's language and evasions on the 09-08 call. Sources: bcs-supply.com and bcssolutions.de (live + Wayback), German commercial register mirrors (northdata, handelsregister.ai, viaductus), WHOIS, DNS, Ali's own emails and brochure PDF in Sean's Proton, the 09-08 call transcript, and public reporting on Atlanta Public Schools. Washington LLC filing could not be pulled (state API and two mirrors bot-blocked); noted as unverified.
1. Real company, one person. BCS Supply is a brand of BCS Solutions GmbH, Landshut, Germany, register HRB 14510, managing director B.Eng. Ali Aboosaidi, share capital €30,000. Registered 2024-10-04. Ali is the only named officer anywhere.
2. Core business is stationary storage, not buses. The product is a battery-control kit that lets integrators reuse BMW i3 packs in stationary storage. The site, the services page, the register purpose, and every news post through Feb 2026 say storage. Zero public mention of school buses, Lion Electric, or Atlanta anywhere.
3. The bus line is about six weeks old on paper. The after-sales brochure Ali sent was created in PowerPoint on 2026-07-27, in a file whose internal title is a German charger manual. Its text never says Lion, bus, school, fleet, or Atlanta. Lion's US warranties were voided in the Oct/Nov 2025 news cycle. The pivot follows the news.
4. Atlanta is unverified. Atlanta Public Schools does run 25 LionC buses (EPA Clean School Bus money, 23 on the road as of April 2025). No public record ties BCS to them. Ali cites it on every call. Ask for a name.
5. The BMW claim is a history, not a partnership. Their own site says the kit was "developed together with BMW" in 2017 to 2019 and piloted at BMW Dingolfing. Nothing says BMW is a current partner. "R&D partner of BMW" and "through our partnership with BMW" went out in emails and should not be repeated.

| Claim (as used on calls and emails) | Evidence | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| "Our team came out of BMW R&D" | Site: kit developed with BMW 2017 to 2019 in Landshut, which is a BMW component plant town. Ali's personal BMW tenure not documented anywhere public. | Plausible history. Say it as history, never as a current partnership. |
| "R&D partner of BMW" / "partnership with BMW" | Nothing current. BMW is a logo on the references slide. | Do not repeat. |
| "Already supporting Atlanta Public Schools, 25 buses" | APS has 25 LionC on order, 23 delivered by April 2025. Zero public tie to BCS. | Unverified. Ask Ali for the APS contact and the scope. |
| "Proprietary BMW diagnostic tools" | Brochure lists a service laptop, module charger, EOS case. Consistent with a former BMW battery workshop toolset. | Plausible. Demonstrable on a yard visit only. |
| "One of our team is a former Lion technician" | Never named. | Unverified. |
| "Referred by a different school district" / "by Arden" / "by others in the industry" | Ali's standard opener. No referral exists. | False as used. Cut everywhere. |
| "40+ MWh in service, 85+ projects" | Storage business, Europe and Gulf. | Irrelevant to buses; fine as company credibility. |
| Siemens, TotalEnergies, Goodyear, Saft, Osram, Fenecon, Pepper references | Logos on slide 11 only. Fenecon does build storage from second-life BMW i3 packs, so that one fits. | Storage references, not bus references. |
Publicly: zero days. There is no bus, EV after-sales, or Lion content on either site, in the register purpose, or in any post through 2026-02-10. The earliest bus artifact we hold is the 2026-07-27 brochure, and even that never uses the word bus. The register purpose does say "automotive or rail," and the toolset is real BMW pack tooling, so the technical claim is coherent: the LionC pack is BMW-sourced, and they know BMW packs. What they have never done, on any record, is service a vehicle fleet. The site is not geared to buses because the bus business did not exist when the site was built, and nobody has written a page since. That is also why "Flying Doctor" leaked into a school-district email: it is the stationary-storage services page copied over.
1. Before any yard visit, get three things from Ali in writing: the Atlanta Public Schools contact name and what BCS actually does there; the names of the "two other people"; the comp proposal. Nicko already required the third. Make the first two part of the same ask.
2. Reframe the credibility line to what is true. "Our battery team built the BMW second-life kit in Landshut, next to BMW's plant. The battery inside a Lion is a BMW battery. That is the part we know." Drop partner, drop referred-by.
3. Treat Sean and Nicko as the only field organization BCS has in the US. That is leverage in the comp talk. Nobody else is knocking on district doors for them.
4. Verify once, cheaply: WA Secretary of State filing for BCS Supply LLC (UBI, governors, formation date) when the site is not bot-blocked; one call to the APS transportation office asking who services their Lion packs.
5. Public-record watch: the German register shows one shareholder. If Ali ever names an investor or "the company" as a separate owner, that is a claim to check.
Status: DRAFT for Sean. Nothing outbound without GO. Written in Sean's voice from the 09-08 call. Works for Brewer (Oceanside, one bus), Brodwolf (Cajon Valley, seven), and any transportation director. Section 9 is the version for Ali's calls, the rephrase Sean promised him.
Say: Lion walked away from the US. Our battery team came out of BMW's R&D group. The battery inside a Lion is BMW. We fix the bad module, not the whole pack. Parts about 30% under dealership. One of our team used to work at Lion. Atlanta, 25 buses, live client. We're talking with other California districts right now (true after Twin Rivers). Grant rules expect a funded bus to stay in service five years.
Do not say: "BMW i3." "referred by" anyone. Any Fleet EForce words beyond their own site. "Jacked up." Nuvve or chargers at Cajon Valley. "The grant pays for maintenance." Nonprofit partnerships. A labor price. A count of their buses as fact. Statute numbers.
Pulled from Proton 09-09. Sent Fri 09-04, 1:28 pm, from nicko.trataris@bcs-supply.com, signed "Nicholas Trataris, BCS Supply LLC, 858-257-4811," one logo image attached, subject "Keeping Your LION Electric Buses on the Road." Four things went out that our notes said did not:
So on the phone: this call is that 15-minute conversation, say so. If they ask who referred you: "Honestly, industry chatter, nobody at a district gave us your name. I'd rather just ask you straight." If they say "flying doctor": "Yeah, that was our note. Plain English, our guy comes to your yard." Do not repeat "R&D partner of BMW"; say "our battery team came out of BMW R&D." Do not promise 24 hours; say "we put a date on it."
Hey, good morning. Sean, with BCS Supply. Who's the right person for your electric buses, the Lion ones? Is that Tysen?
If "what's this regarding?":
The Lion buses. Lion stopped servicing them in the US, we keep them running. I'm local. Is Tysen in?
If not in:
No worries. When's Tysen usually at a desk, mornings or after routes?
Get the window. Get the direct line if they offer it. Then:
Cool. I'll call back then. Sean, BCS Supply, 760-642-1892. Thanks for the help.
Do not ask them to have Tysen call you. Nobody does that. You call back at the window they gave you.
Tysen? Hey, it's Sean with BCS Supply. This is a cold call, so I'll be quick, and if it's a bad time just tell me.
(beat, let them answer)
How's the morning, routes all out?
One line of real talk. Whatever they give you, take it, one reply, move on. Then:
Here's why I'm calling. You've got the Lion buses, and Lion walked away from the US. We keep those buses running. I'm local, I'm in Oceanside. Quick question, and be straight with me. How many of your Lions are actually rolling right now?
Then be quiet. Let it sit.
Your instinct line, if the tone is loose and they sound like they've been through it:
Would I be wrong to guess at least one of them is parked right now?
That one gets a laugh or a sigh. Both are fine. Use it once, only after the first question, never as the opener.
Rule: they talk, you ask. Do not pitch until they have said the problem in their own words.
Follow-ups, pick by what they said:
What's it waiting on, a battery thing, or nobody to touch it? Who touches it today when it acts up? And that's somebody billing you by the hour? How long's it been sitting? Is anybody asking you about it yet, board, the grant folks? When one goes down, what happens to that route?
Mirror their words back. Ali hears these every day: "left them in the yard," "lost hope," "no support," "hourly rate," "we want one company for everything." When you hear one, say it back: "So it's just sitting in the yard." Then wait.
Okay. So here's us in one breath. Our battery guys came out of BMW's R&D group, and the battery inside a Lion is a BMW battery. We plug in with the actual diagnostic tools, we fix the bad module instead of quoting you a whole new pack, parts run about 30% under dealership, and we train your mechanic so you're not stuck calling somebody at an hourly rate forever. One of our team used to work at Lion. We're doing this for Atlanta right now on 25 buses.
Then the honest line. It works because it is true:
I'm not the battery engineer. I'm the local guy who makes sure the engineer shows up.
Here's what I'd like to do. I'm ten minutes from you. I come by, ten minutes, I look at the buses, snap a couple photos of the pack labels, no charge, no laptop, no pitch. Then if it makes sense, we put a date on the calendar for our engineer to come in with the diagnostic kit and actually plug in. Thursday morning or Friday morning?
For Cajon Valley swap the first line: "I'm in East County Thursday anyway."
Book it. Confirm it back:
So Thursday, 9:30, at the yard on Park Ave. I'll ask for you at the garage. What's the best number for you that day?
If neither day works:
Which week? I'll leave you alone until then.
Log the date. That is the minimum. No date, no call. Their "send me an email" is not a date.
| They say | You say |
|---|---|
| "Send me an email." | "For sure. So I send you the right thing and not a brochure, what do you actually want to see, the price side or the technical side? ... Cool, that goes out today. And so it doesn't die in your inbox, can I call you Thursday at 9 to walk through it, or is Friday better?" |
| "We use Fleet EForce." | "Okay, good, so you've got somebody. Do they fix the bad module or swap the whole pack? ... And how's the pricing been treating you?" Let them say it. You never do. |
| "They're all running." | "Nice. Honestly that's rare right now. When one does go down, who's your call? ... Worth having a second number. Ten minutes Thursday, I leave a card and look at the yard?" |
| "There's no budget." | "Totally get it, and I'm not asking for a PO. The look is free. You get a number in writing after, and it's yours to sit on. Thursday or Friday?" |
| "Not my call." | "Who is it, Scott over in business services? Cool. Mind if I say you pointed me to him?" |
| "How much?" | "Parts about 30% under dealership. Labor depends on what's actually wrong, that's why the look comes first. I'm not going to make up a number on the phone." |
| "We won't touch them till summer." | "Makes sense, you need every bus rolling. That's actually the point of looking now. We find out what's wrong, so summer's a plan and not a scramble. Ten minutes, no wrench." |
| "We hired an EV mechanic." | "Good. Has he done a Lion pack yet? ... We train him on it. Then it stays in your shop." |
| "Who are you again?" | "BCS Supply. Battery team came out of BMW R&D, one of them used to work at Lion. I'm the local guy, Oceanside." |
| "Not interested." | "Fair. One last thing. Who else near you still has Lions parked? ... Appreciate it, Tysen." |
Hey Tysen, Sean with BCS Supply. Cold call, so I'll be quick. Lion walked away from the US, we keep the Lion buses running, and I'm local. One question. How many of yours are actually rolling right now? Call me, 760-642-1892. Sean, BCS Supply, 760-642-1892.
Dial, one immediate redial, then voicemail, then done for the day. Next dial Thursday.
Subject: Thursday at the yard
Tysen, good talking today. You said [their words, one line]. Short version: the battery in a Lion is a BMW battery. We fix the bad module, not the whole pack. Parts about 30% under dealership. We train your mechanic. Atlanta runs 25 Lions with us. Thursday 9:30 at the yard, I'll ask for you at the garage. If that moves, reply with a better day. Sean BCS Supply (760) 642-1892
Under 80 words. No attachment. Send from the same mailbox every time so the thread holds.
Same bones. Swap the local line for the engineer line, and replace the "referred by a different district" opener with something true.
Front desk:
Hi, this is Ali with BCS Supply. Who handles your electric buses, the Lion ones? I'd like to reach them directly.
Director:
This is Ali with BCS Supply. Cold call, I'll be quick. I'm the battery engineer. Our team came out of BMW's R&D group, and the battery inside your Lion buses is a BMW battery. Lion walked away from the US. We keep those buses running. We're doing it for Atlanta on 25 buses, and we're talking with a couple of California districts right now. One question. How many of your Lions are rolling right now?
Then the same listen block as section 3. Then:
I can be on site with the diagnostic kit and actually plug in. Let's put a date on it while we're talking. Week of the 21st, Tuesday or Wednesday?
"Send me an email" branch for Ali:
Of course. So I send the right thing, what do you want to see first, cost or the technical side? ... It goes out today. Can I call you Thursday at 9 to walk through it?
If they raise cost: "within your budget" and the 30% parts line. Never "jacked up," never a competitor's name unless they say it first. If they say it first: "How's that been going for you?" and listen.
Called YYYY-MM-DD. [Their words on bus status]. Maintains it: [who]. Next: [date + what]. Stage: [fixed value].
Labor price from Ali. BMW proof photo (your visit produces it). Ali's first available San Diego date with the kit. Comp and title for Sean (M21). Say "I work with BCS Supply" until M21 lands.
